Stronger Skills, Bigger Opportunities for Solomon Islands!
Yesterday, the EIU was part of a High-Level National Stakeholder Engagement Meeting organised by SITESA. The focus was the Pacific Qualifications Recognition Project (PQRP) — funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) and jointly implemented by New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and the Pacific Community (SPC).
Through SITESA, Solomon Islands is part of this important regional project, which aims to: Strengthen national & regional qualifications frameworks.
Build capacity in quality assurance, qualification design & recognition standards.
Foster labour mobility and cross-border employment opportunities.
Promote trust & transparency in Pacific education systems.
Relevance to Ecommerce
This work directly supports Priority Area 6: Skills Development in our National Ecommerce Strategy 2022-2027, which focuses on: Building digital literacy & ecommerce skills for SMEs, youth & women.
Ensuring quality-assured training that meets recognised standards.
Promoting regional recognition of our digital & trade qualifications.
Why this matters
Opens regional markets for Solomon Islands-trained digital entrepreneurs.
Builds confidence among employers & investors in our local ecommerce talents.
Supports cross-border trade facilitation by aligning our qualifications with international standards.
With better-recognised skills, our people will be more competitive, our businesses more trusted, and our nation better connected to the Pacific and beyond.
