Mrs Lynnette Dawheya, Registrar of Foreign Investment Company
Welcome to our webpage. We invite you to take your time to explore the information provided on this site, particularly our guidance on investment and compliance requirements. We welcome any comments or suggestions that may help us improve our services. InvestSolomons, the Foreign Investment Division of the Solomon Islands Government (SIG), serves as the country’s Investment Promotion Agency (IPA). Our mandate is to promote, facilitate, and monitor foreign investment to support sustainable economic growth and development.
The Solomon Islands offers diverse investment opportunities across key sectors such as Manufacturing, Tourism, Agriculture, Fisheries, and a wide range of Services. To support growth in these priority sectors, the SIG provides a range of investment incentives to attract and encourage both new and expanding ventures.
In 2016, the Solomon Business Registry underwent a major upgrade to streamline the registration process. As a result, foreign investor applications can now be processed and approved within five working days or less. For more information, please visit the Solomon Business Registry website.
We acknowledge that challenges remain, including limited infrastructure, high operational costs driven by fuel prices, and the logistics of connecting a geographically dispersed nation. Despite these constraints, we continue to collaborate closely with stakeholders to explore alternatives that will attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), particularly in sectors that generate employment, promote value-added production, and contribute meaningfully to the economy.
Much has been achieved over the years, yet we recognise that more still needs to be done. As we look ahead, we remain confident that InvestSolomons will continue on its dedicated path—strengthening the promotion of our investment opportunities abroad and enhancing Solomon Islands as a competitive and welcoming investment destination with a conducive business environment for investors and local enterprises alike.
