Functions of the Headquarters and Corporate Services Division

The Headquarters and Corporate Services Division is responsible for providing human resources, administrative and financial management services to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration. It ensures the day to day running of the Ministry and for the creation of job descriptions to meet the Ministry’s needs.

1.Financial Management

As the accountable officer the Permanent Secretary heads financial management within the Ministry.

He is assisted by two Under Secretaries and the Ministry’s Financial Controller. Together the Officers ensure that financial reporting within the Ministry’s Accounts Division is in line with the Ministry of Finance and Treasury’s (MoFT) financial instructions and financial reporting standards.

2.Corporate Services

The Administration Division is headed by a Human Resource Manager and handles the Ministry’s administrative and human resources functions including records management, processing of salary, maintaining employee records / appraisal and general office management in line with the Solomon Islands Government’s General Orders.

The Administration Division also makes available opportunities for vacancies of the Ministry and facilitates scholarship applications as well as the issuance of the relevant standard forms for these opportunities.
