The Border Control Unit is responsible for monitoring Solomon Islands’ international seaports and airports.

It monitors foreign vessels and aircrafts that enter Solomon Islands’ international ports and ensures that travelers on board these vessels and aircrafts have the proper immigration documents and permits to enter Solomon Islands. The Unit is also responsible for processing short-term visa applications of foreign nationals for visitor visas, extended stay visitor visas and business visas.
