The Trade Dispute Panel (TDP) handles cases in which recognition is sought by a trade union and facilitates or encourages a negotiated agreement (conciliation) in cases of trade disputes. Where such an agreement cannot be reached, the TDP is responsible for deliberating on the matter before it makes an award in accordance with the Trade Disputes Act 1981.
The Trade Disputes Panel can hear and make a decision on two types of cases. These are cases of Trade Disputes and cases in which there is a claim by an employee of an Unfair Dismissal.
The Trade Disputes Panel issues its own Standard Forms. These Forms can be downloaded, printed and used for Unfair Dismissal cases.
