Employment Services are handled by the Labour Division’s Employment Services (ES) Unit and include:
Industrial Relations (IR) is the study of the laws, conventions and institutions that regulate 'the workplace'. It describes the relations between management and workers in an industry.
National Trade Training, Testing and Certification is a concern of the Labour Division. The Division, through the Trade Training, Testing and Certification handles this concern through a tripartite partnership with training institutions and industries.
The Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) Unit is the Labour Division’s arm that ensures employers are aware of their legal obligations under the country’s safety at work laws.
Solomon Islands is a member of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), a tripartite organisation made up of trade unions, governments and companies. The ILO is part of the United Nations system. Since 1919, the ILO has maintained and developed a system of international standards.
