The key objectives of this Unit are to:

Upgrade and promote the general standards of tradesman ship through skills dissemination, certification and accreditation in the country, with an aim to increase and improve productivity and competitiveness.

The Unit is also responsible for updating trade occupation skills standards to meet industry needs and demands. The Unit also provides national recognition through apprenticeship proficiency and trade testing and certification.
