The Headquarters and Corporate Services Division is made up of two sub-divisions, they are the Administration Division and Accounts Division. The Administration Division handles all human resource related issues of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration including the Ministry’s day to day administrative functions. The Accounts Division all financial management issues of the Ministry.
The Headquarters and Corporate Services Division is responsible for providing human resources, administrative and financial management services to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration. It ensures the day to day running of the Ministry and for the creation of job descriptions to meet the Ministry’s needs.
The IDD is made up of four Units that provide technical support and advisory services to enhance industrial development capacity, promote entrepreneurship and promote and develop SMI products and SME Services throughout the Solomon Islands.
The Industrial Development Division is responsible for and carries out the following roles in the execution of its functions.
The Industrial Development Division’s (IDD) National Project Office is responsible for coordinating the development of National Development Projects. These Projects are developed under three programs.

Short term visas are offered to foreign nationals who wish to visit the Solomon Islands for a short term stay. This can be for a maximum period of 3 months or 12 months depending on the visa type.
Long term visas are offered to foreign nationals who plan to reside (usually for the purpose of setting up a business, investing, employment. Study, research, exchange or for religious purposes) must apply to the Director of Immigration for a visa to enter and reside prior to entering Solomon Islands. The maximum validity of a visa to enter and reside is two years. Current visa holders wishing to further extend their stay in Solomon Islands must apply to the Director of Immigration two months prior to the expiry of their existing visa with all requirements provided.

The Passport Unit can issue new passports to Solomon Islanders who may have lost or damaged their passport and want it replaced. Passports renewals are also handled by the Unit.
The Immigration Division is made up of four Units. They include the Border Control Unit, Permit Unit, Passport Unit and Enforcement Unit.

The Labour Division is one of the Ministry of Commerce Industry Labour and Industry’s (MCILI) ten (10) Divisions. The Division is organized into five (5) Units encompassing all aspects of labour related activities.

The Trade Dispute Panel (TDP) handles cases in which recognition is sought by a trade union and facilitates or encourages a negotiated agreement (conciliation) in cases of trade disputes. Where such an agreement cannot be reached, the TDP is responsible for deliberating on the matter before it makes an award in accordance with the Trade Disputes Act 1981.
The Trade Disputes Panel can hear and make a decision on two types of cases. These are cases of Trade Disputes and cases in which there is a claim by an employee of an Unfair Dismissal.
