The Cooperatives Unit has completed formulating a policy document in 2009; this document outlines implementation strategies for the development of cooperatives in the country. It enables the cooperative movement to play a more effective role in the nation’s development as well as face future challenges in line with the requirements of the government. Onward progress of meetings and interactions will be conducted with identified implementing agencies during the course of the document implementation phases. The document, if approved by Cabinet, would be made available also for the review of the cooperative Act.
