The Cooperative Society Unit of the Business and Cooperatives Development Division is headed by the Registrar of Cooperative Societies.

The Unit is responsible for registering Cooperative Societies and for maintaining a register of registered societies.

The Unit, like their Business Unit counterparts, also provides support services to these Cooperative Societies in the form of trainings, market research, promotions and advice on financing options.
