Our Mission Statement
The Ministry will provide effective and efficient commercial, labour and immigration services that will give Solomon Islanders more opportunities to actively engage in activities that will enable them to improve and sustain their livelihoods. We believe that in order to serve our clients well, we must uphold the values of this organization that advocate good governance, transparency and accountability. Amongst other things, we will ensure that the limited financial resources that we have must be carefully expended on areas that will enhance the capacity of the Ministry to effectively and efficiently deliver the required services. It is our commitment to recruit, train and retain experienced, qualified and committed officers and to equip them with the required technologies that will assist them in their official work. Although human resources may be an issue now, our current workforce is competently serving and providing a friendly environment to our day to day clients.

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour & Immigrations, in the course of executing its mandated responsibilities, will uphold and build on the primary pillars of Accountability and Transparency. Organizational Structure
The Ministry has nine (9) technical divisions supported by the Administration and Accounts division. The chart in Appendix 2 shows the Ministry’s structure with the Hon. Minister being the political head and the Permanent Secretary as the administrative head. The Permanent Secretary is supported by two (2) Under Secretaries; one is responsible for Administration and Planning while the other deals with technical issues arising within the Ministry.
